In 2018, we introduced a packaging bring-back scheme in Hong Kong SAR, China, inviting customers to return their empty plastic and glass cosmetic packaging to JAO signature stores and counters across the city.

Given the comparatively low recycling rates in Hong Kong SAR, China, this initiative aimed to enhance recycling awareness and rates by providing customers with a convenient option to return used packaging for recycling. This program helps reduce the amount of packaging waste from JAO and other cosmetic and personal care companies that would otherwise end up in landfill.

In 2020, we expanded the Rinse and Return program to Taiwan, China, and together, these programs diverted over 4.5 tonnes of packaging material from landfill. By mid-2021, the program also extended to Singapore. We will continue to assess and implement appropriate packaging recycling initiatives in additional markets, with plans for further expansion over time.
